April: Thur 12th/Fri 13th 2007:
Farnes, Northumberland.
Early season venture, organised by Tony,
despite poor viz, 8 divers enjoyed easy dives on Blue Caps, Pinnacles
and shallow wreck on Holy Island.
June 3rd/4th 2007:
St. Abbs, Scottish Borders.
Two days diving with Paul Crowe on Topline for 6 divers.
Sunday saw six divers on Wuddy Rocks and 2nd dive off the main Abbs Head.
Monday, despite early morning fog, soon cleared up and two very calm dives on
Cathedral Rock in perfect viz, despite using a boat for a shore dive,
and a very nice second dive on the Skelly off the main Abbs Head.
July 7th/8th 2007:
Farnes, Northumberland
Hardboat diving with William Shiel for 12 divers.
Excellent conditions compared to down south with plenty of seal action.
July 6th~8th 2007:
Pembroke, South Wales.
Four ASC divers: Nick, Kerry, Lee and John Cooke joined forces with Leeds BSAC, on a venture
orgainsed by Steve Mustow to Pembroke. 6 hour car voyage on Thursday, in heavy rain,
to the Pub in Little Haven.
Excellent accomodation and breakfast with West Wales Dive centre.
Friday saw abortive dive at Stakpole Quay, would probably be a good dive outside gale force conditions,
though a superb walk along the cliffs ensued.
Saturday diving on the north side, two dives on Hen & Chicks and Stack Rock,
superb scenery above and below water, especially the large spider crabs.
Sunday, diving at its best on the Lucy wreck.
Nick, Kerry and Lee dropped down to 35m in fresh mid-tide currects, onto the wreck.
Fortunately the run took us from bow to stern, all too quickly, then spent the best part of the dive
relaxing on the super-structure of the stern, before climbing the mast to 18m, for a DSMB ascent.

July 23rd~24th 2007:
Plymouth, Devon.
A return to Plymouth with Deep Blue, but this time chartering the hardboat Endeavour,
for 7 divers: Nick, Kerry, Lee, Andy, Tony, Jessica and Drystan.
Monday blown out by bad weather, another cliff walk undertaken.
Dinner and B&B in the Clovelly Bay Inn very recommendable.
Tuesday, the best of British diving on the Maine and Persier wrecks.
Early morning start at 7am on the Endeavour, tons of room for 7 divers, plus a lift.
The Maine an awesome wreck at max depth 33m, excellent viz, good swim-throughs,
shoals of fish in the stern, a top wreck dive.
4 Hours later and we drop into 29m onto the Persier wreck. Although more broken up then the Maine
plenty of fish life, small fan corals and again good visibility. Another excellent wreck dive.

August 11th/12th 2007:
Eyemouth, Scottish Borders
Rib diving with Aquastars, 8 divers.
Excellent easy diving over 4 dives: Burnmouth Caves, Chevron Rock, Congor Reef and a new one Fancove Head.
Calm conditions, good visibility for pictures and easy camping at Aquastars lead to an excellent weekend.
Top tip for next year, book a restaurant in advance.

August 25th~31st 2007:
Scapa Flow, Orkney.
Tony, Jessica and Drystan take in the deep wrecks.
Despite Stu and Kayle, now in the remote Pacific Islands of Vanatu, Tony & Co took in a week of 1st
class diving at Scapa Flow on the Karin, skippered by John Thornton. All the deep wrecks encountered:
Krownprinze, Dresden, Koln, Brummer, Karlshrule, James Barrie, plus pm dives which afforded better
visibilty, though a perfect week of diving was had, wheras elsewhere further south conditions were less
favourable.
Pictures to follow.
September 2007:
Dorset and Cornwall
Whilst darn-sarf for two weeks Nick took in 4 days diving.
Two in Weymouth on the 34m wreck of the Landrail and a 20m drift dive over the Gertrude wreck
via the Tango charter boat, well recommended. A second day, this time RIB diving with Fathom & Blues
onto the Alex Van Opstel wreck at 30m in dark conditions with Paddy divers who dont like deco stops,
also helps if the shot hits the wreck instead of a 100m swim against the current!
Second stop Cornwall, off the Lizard peninsular with Porth Kerris divers.
A remote location but well worth visiting. Wreck dives on the 20m Volnay and 27m Mohegan plus scenic
dives on the Manacles via the local RIB. Excellent operation, well worth a return visit.

Sept 22nd/23rd 2007:
Farnes, Northumberland
Hardboat diving with William Shiel for 12 divers.
The ASC end of season special, late September for some serious seal action.
Saturday saw the easy option with the Hoppen wall and Blue Caps as the two dives.
Both nice wall dives with numerous playful seals in excellent viz.
Sunday, attempt on the Somalia curtailed by Glad Tidings 3 grounded at low water.
2nd Choice the Christiansen aborted owing to high seas, leading to calmer dives
on the Northern Hares and a shallow dive in the Kettle.

October 2007:
Sharm-El-Sheikh, Red Sea
ASC members escaped to the sun.
Dave Richardson organised the main trip, using European Divers, for a ten day excursion.
Meanwhile Nick, Liz and DaveC followed a week later and met up for several dives, though
using Emporer divers.
Emporer divers, a large pro-British operation, with several day and live-aboard boats,
are an excellent outfit for club and solo divers.
Our trips took in 1 days local dives: White Knight and Garden dives, up to Tirana, down to
Ras-Mohammed and a long day to the Thistlegorm via a 4 hour sailing. Most days allowed 3
dives per day, except the Thistlegorm when we ran out of time as the crew had to get back
to port at 16:30 during Ramadam.
